- יני, יָנָה,Hif. הוֹנָה (b. h.; v. אָנָה) to oppress, treat overbearingly, vex, taunt. Gen. R. s. 88, beg. שלא יהו מוֹנִים אתוכ׳ that they might not taunt Israel saying Cant. R. to I, 6. Tanḥ. Vayera 14 כל מי שיוֹנֶה להבירו whoever I aggrieves his neighbor. Ib. הוֹנֵת את עצמה humbled herself; a. fr.V. הוֹנָאָה, אוֹנָאָה.
